5.1
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION & RECOMMEDATION.
It could be deduced
from last chapter that most of our enlightened population knows the meaning of
environmental degradation and its causes as people agreed that persistent
pollution, from poor water management deforestation and indiscriminate use of
toxic chemicals can lead to environmental degradation. It was also agreed that
population and industrial growth also play minimart role in environmental
degradation, although, industrial growth is a development stage that every
state want to practice. Erosion and government policy on environment also
promote environmental degradation especially in OLORUNSOGO local government
area of OYO STATE. The implication of environmental degradation on health is purely negative these
includes the recent global change that is result into excessive heat and
flooding not only in OLORUNSOGO local government area but throughout the globe
loss of biological resources and implication of stratosphere ozone is another
global of implication of environmental degradation on our surroundings.
Environmental
degradation can be prevented and control not only by the government, but with
support of international agencies and individual members of the society
worldwide.
5.2
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded
that environmental degradation is a serious problem emerge in our environment
as a result of human activities in the environment it is generally believed
that the degradation emerged because of our poor waste disposal and management,
and indiscriminately, felling of trees and other alterations to
suit human purpose, it was agreed that environmental degradation has inflicted
serious implication on our environment at large. These also include code of
biological resources and biodiversity, scarcity to land to be use for farming
there by resulted in poor food supply. This also includes depletion of
stratosphere ozone layer from the use of toxic chemicals and its poor disposal
in our environment. Not only that poor solid waste management, poor liquid and
gaseous waste can also promote environmental degradation all these result into
poor physical and physiological health status of both man, animal and plant in
this type of environment.
Adequate
waste disposal and waste management is one of the factors that can promote good
industrial regulations and layout that can help in smooth environmental
monitoring indiscriminate felling of trees should be regulated in line with
good town planning.
RECOMMENDATIONS
In
line with the identities causes of environmental degradation in our environment
coupled with the researcher knowledge acquired during collection of information
for this resources work called for the following suggestion to prevent and
control environmental degradation.
1. Every members of
the society should be educated on the meaning and world at large
2. Environmental
health should be including in the
primary and secondary education syllabus to strengthened individual knowledge
and awareness on environmental as we grow with the community
3. Government needs
to seriously intervene in sanitary waste disposal and its management before
they causes menace in our society, this will reduce the spread of disease and
unnecessary spending on curative health
4. Government should
ban the importation and sale of outdated electronics such as refrigeration,
televisions, computer for the safety of our people environment at large
5. There should be
strict laws setting saw mills and fetching of trees for any purpose to prevent
soil erosion and degradation
6. Proper and
functioning environmental monitoring team should be set up at the 774 local
government area in the country to promote prompt and smooth monitoring of our
environment from the industrial operation
7. There is need for
our industrialists to receive serious education on the intending industry to be
set up to know the waste products of their raw materials and their implication
on the society
8. All people or
industry making use of chemical should be educated on the need to do chemical
substitution from toxic chemical to less toxic chemical in their chemical
consumption
9. Our governor and
other leaders should consider even development in their communities to prevent
population explosion and pollution of environment that may arises from
population growth
10.
The world scientist should not relent their
efforts to mend depleted part of stratosphere ozone to prevent a dangerous
impact it may cause in the next c-10 years
11.
The farmers in this part of the world needs to
be educated on the need for consulting the agriculturalists before taken choice
of land, crops and chemical in farming to prevent land degradation from
indiscriminate chemical use.

There is a need for employment of more
environmental health officer to have enough to monitor our environment
especially the industrial fields
13.
There is a need to include experience
environmental health officer in other environmental monitoring agents on the
environment.
